A Groba hill
A Groba hill is the highest top in the council (648 m). It belongs to A Groba mountain chain, which stretches among Baiona, Tui and A Guarda. Up in the top you find O Cortelliño mirador from which the Rias Baixas seem a calm and colourful watercolour.
To reach the hill, 11 km away from the town, take an ascending road on your left on the way out from Baiona to A Guarda. The environment presents pines, eucalyptus and thicket-furze, heather and other bushes-. The river Groba runs through it, surrounded by a deep silent forest, seldom awaken by trills and running water.
Nothing healthier than climbing this hill up and wandering around the beautiful paths and cobbled ways while you watch wild horses grazing on the hillsides. A landscape that comes again after thousands of years, when Bronze-Age men recorded the presence of these animals in the rupestrian paintings found high in the hill.
